Touch Point Stress Relief

Description: Acupressure for Stress Relief is a sister of acupuncture and based on the same meridian theory base, which is 2000 years old in Asia. The technique is also known as the Emotional Freedom or Energy Psychology. Using light touch or tapping on acu-points, difficult emotions are desensitized with a corresponding calming physiological let-down of tension. The use of this technique in a large study of Iraqi veterans’ disturbed emotions, their physical agitation and their ability to obtain restful sleep is ongoing. There is also published research with phobia elimination and test phobia. In school, it is can be used as a calming and focusing tool. The techniques are truly amazing for treating the anxiety spectrum and stress!

Lead Awareness

Description: Lead poisoning has been identified as one of the most common and most preventable health issues of our time. Children are more likely to be exposed and impacted by exposure than adults due to a number of physiologic and behavioral issues. Blood lead levels once considered acceptable are now being linked with ADHD, depressed IQ scores, learning disabilities, delayed speech development, hearing impairment and a number of other health and behavioral problems. This presentation will show how our schools can play an active role in improving the awareness and prevention efforts aimed at this problem that so clearly impacts our educational system.

Description: A brief overview of CCAVA’ s services with emphasis on online ordering of videos will be given. The main portion of the presentation will be a demonstration showing how streamed media (videos, audio files, educational photos and images all tied to NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards) can be delivered and integrated into the daily curriculum. Participants will be able to view streamed media and still images, and hear audio files all with coordinated activities.
