Hello Somerdale Park School Students, Parents & Somerdale Families,
My Name is Mary Dow. I have had the honor to be Somerdale Park School's School Nurse for the past 27 years.
Prior to that, I was employed as Assistant Nurse Manager in Cooper Hospital's NICU for 7 years, Night Shift Charge Nurse in Monmouth Medical Center's NICU for 5 years, Staff Nurse in Boston's Children's Cardiac Unit for 2 years & Staff Nurse in Deborah Heart & Lung Center's Pediatric Unit for 2 years.
I am a graduate of Seton Hall University, where I received my Bachelor's in the Science of Nursing Degree. Additionally, I attended Monmouth University & Seton Hall University as a graduate student to obtain my School Nurse Certification.
I have lived here in the Somerdale Community for 25 years with my husband Brad. We have had the good fortune to be able to raise our 2 children here in Somerdale. It was pretty awesome to have my children here with me during their elementary school days and they were very fortunate to have received the education they did from some of the finest teachers, my colleagues & friends. They are both grown adults now, believe me when I tell you the time does fly! So soak up every minute you can of your child's time here at the Park! They will be cherished memories for you in the years to come! My daughter is now a Business School Graduate from Rutgers University & is employed by Boeing as a Supply Chain Analyst for their Military Dept. and my son has graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in Cyber Defense & is now employed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Philadelphia Division. Needless to say, we are very proud of them!
But my family doesn't end there! I have enjoyed many years caring for the children & families of Our Somerdale Community and many have become "Family". I do not take lightly the trust, that you as parents put in me to care for your children during school. It is truly an honor and caring for your children brings me great joy.
